Founder, Tailored by Propeller

Tailored by Propeller is the latest — and most personal — venture from event strategist Adrianne Mellen, launched in 2024 for clients who want something truly bespoke. NYFW is crafted-for-you — because that's exactly what Adrianne has been doing her entire career.

Her story starts at the glossy end of media — Vogue, InStyle, Real Simple, Teen People — where she learned that a great event isn't just a party, it's a brand's heartbeat made tangible. In 2009, she launched Adrianne Elizabeth Events, spending over a decade making her mark across fashion, sports, tech, lifestyle, and media. In 2023, she evolved the whole operation into Propeller — sharper, more strategic, more purpose-driven. Tailored by Propeller is the natural next chapter: high-touch, deeply personalized planning for clients who refuse to settle for ordinary.

Propeller's social impact arm, PropelHer, puts real money behind women building businesses and bold lives — because Adrianne believes in lifting as she climbs. She also serves on the boards of Closely Crafted and her local public school, champions the arts, and shows up fiercely for her South Street Seaport community.

Heather Passaro

Sales and Guest Relations

Heather Passaro is a fashion and media veteran whose career has unfolded at the intersection of style, storytelling, and access. A Fashion Institute of Technology graduate, she started in fashion PR before moving into publishing, where she held coveted roles at InStyle, People, and Cosmopolitan — including a years-long tenure as right hand to then-editor-in-chief Joanna Coles.  With over two decades spent navigating front rows, back offices, and the worlds that shape them, Heather brings a rare insider's eye to every Tailored by Propeller experience.

You will find Heather at the end of each of the Tailored by Propeller calls you receive.  As the Head of Sales, Heather is ready to make your New York Fashion Week dreams come true!

Catalina Cano

Web and Guest Relations

Catalina Cano brings experience across experiential marketing, event production, hospitality, and brand activations within fashion, music, and sports. Her background includes work with Live Nation, Authentic Brand Group, On Location, and the inaugural Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. 

At Tailored by Propeller, Catalina leads website development, product creation, and customer communications surrounding New York Fashion Week. During Fashion Week, she also supports on-site operations by managing guest check-in and helping create a seamless, elevated experience for attendees.

Alissa Schumacher

Marketing, Social Media & Guest Relations

Alissa Schumacher brings experience across fashion, brand marketing, communications, and event management to her role at Tailored by Propeller. Her background includes editorial work at InStyle, brand strategy at Karl Lagerfeld, digital marketing at The Hut Group, and communications at the United Nations.

At Tailored by Propeller, Alissa leads marketing, social media, and customer relations, shaping the brand's presence across channels and ensuring every client has a seamless, memorable New York Fashion Week experience.
